Donald E Lavigne, Sr.

Donald Edwin Lavigne, Sr, 75, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 3, 1944 in Massachusetts. A son of the late Joseph and Mary Lavigne. In addition to his parents Donald was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Minnie Pearl Lavigne. Donald loved going to church, spending time with his family and in the outdoors while hunting and fishing. He proudly served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. He was a man’s man who loved socializing with anyone he ever met. He loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was loved by so many and will be missed dearly by all that knew him.

Donald is survived by his three children, Donald E. Lavigne, Jr., Sherry Lavigne and Laura Ann Lavigne; four grandchildren, Christopher Lavigne, Felicia Sines and husband Chris, Erica Hayer and Darik Lavigne and wife, Hillary; five great-grandchildren, Trinity Sines, Dakota Redden, Bryan Lavigne, Hayden Hawkins and Mason Hayer; five siblings, Raymond Lavigne and wife, Cathy, Robert Lavigne and wife, Carol, Betty O’Neil and husband, Jack, Richard Lavigne and Larry Lavigne and wife, Teresa; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends.

A Graveside service and celebration of Donald’s life will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Collierstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lexington, VA with Pastor Earl Ragland officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00pm on Thursday, October 10, 2019 prior to the graveside at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
