Donald E. Lozier, 86, of Lynchburg, Va., passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018. He was the husband of Sharon Neily Lozier for 63 years, both originally from Apalachin, N.Y.
Donald was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. on December 28, 1931, the son of Byron and Grace Lozier. He graduated from Vestal High School and Clarkson University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, working for IBM Owego, N.Y. and retiring in 1987. He was preceded in death by his three older brothers, William, Franklin, and Burton Lozier.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, he is survived by his son, Dale Lozier and wife, Kari Lozier, of Vestal, N.Y.; a daughter, Beth Sipantzi and husband, Terri Sipantzi, of Forest, Va.; and daughter, Tina Waldo and husband, Mark Waldo, of Gretna, Va.
Don loved the Lord, his family, the church, and the outdoors. Even though he has spent the past 13 years calling Lynchburg his home, Memorial Park Baptist Church of Vestal, N.Y. was his home church where he raised his family.
He also enjoyed the fellowship at Hyland Heights Baptist Church and Heritage Baptist Church through Sunday school, the choir, the Living Cross, and the Food Pantry. He was always willing to serve others by giving of his time and talents for fixing things. He was loved for his friendly and positive attitude and will be greatly missed.
The family will be holding a memorial service in Vestal, N.Y. at a later date. They would like to thank all those who faithfully prayed for him.
