Donald Edward Hoisington

Donald “Don” Edward Hoisington, 86, of Lynchburg, Virginia, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 17, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1938, in Springfield, Vermont, to Robert E. and Regina G. Hoisington.

A 1956 graduate of Springfield High School in Springfield, VT, Don went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960. On August 19, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Jane E. Nunes. The couple made their home in Springfield, VT, before settling in Keene, NH, where they raised their three sons. In 1993, Don and Jane moved to Lynchburg, VA, to be closer to their beloved grandchildren.

Throughout his career, Don worked for Bryant Grinder in Springfield, VT, and Kingsbury Corporation in Keene, NH. After relocating to Lynchburg, he continued his work with Belvac Production Machinery and later with Bedford County Public Schools.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. and Regina G. Hoisington; his brothers, Robert A. Hoisington and Howard A. Hoisington; and his sister Dorothy “Dot” A. Taylor.

He is survived by his wife Jane E. Hoisington; sons Edward A. Hoisington, Michael J. Hoisington, Brian J. (Molly) Hoisington; sister-in-law, Ardis Hoisington; Eight grandchildren – Brittany (William) Fix, Breanne (Luke) Pauley, Marissa Hoisington, Trenton Hoisington, Jordon Hoisington, Caden Hoisington, Alexa Vincent, and Jordon Vincent; five great grandchildren – Liam, Lochlan, Colin, Griffin, and Naomi Fix; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled by the family at a later date.
