Donald Lamont Johnson,60 peacefully earned his wings on Sunday January 16, 2022, at his home in Lynchburg VA

He was born August 12, 1961, to the late Augusta W. Johnson in Lynchburg VA. He was raised in Bedford County by the late Wade and Emma Haley.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Wilson, Reuben Johnson, and Juan Johnson, one Sister Joyce Johnson.

Donald attended and graduated from Jefferson Forest High School where him and his twin brother Ronald were very well known as “The twins on the band”.

Donald was known around Lynchburg with Poppy, his fur baby. He always had an upbeat and positive attitude, a smile on his face and more than one or two jokes. He did not let the tragedy that occurred at such an early age prevent him from living his life, independent and free. His determination was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

Donald was a lifetime fan of The Washington Football Team (Redskins) and thoroughly enjoyed watching football games.

He worked at various entities prior to his accident including, Long John Silvers, Holiday Inn and Hardee’s.

He is survived by two brothers, Norman Johnson and Ronald Johnson (Rhonda) of Lynchburg VA, Three sisters, Debra Spinner of Altamonte Springs FL, Denise Johnson of Capitol Heights MD and Rita McCoy (James) of Las Vegas NV, and special friend Jackie Herndon Hall, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, family  and friends .

The family would like to thank Coleen Gilliam and the Spinner family for their kindness, compassion and generosity shown to Donald during his last few months before he ascended into Heaven.

The family would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love shown during this time. We also thank Mr. Murrell Thornhill for his assistance to the family.
