Donald Mustard

Donald H. Mustard, 81, of Lynchburg, VA, died Monday, November 18, 2013 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Fazzino Mustard, their four children: Michael Mustard (Donna) of Warrenton, VA, Gwendolyn Walthes (Gene) of Yorktown, VA, Donald Mustard (Sheri) of Hampton, VA, and Cynthia Hancock (Daryl) of Crofton, MD; a sister: Mary Sue Mustard of Clincho, VA and a brother: Roger Mustard (Dorothy) of Nickelsville, VA. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Aaron Jacobson, Pamela Mustard, and Steven Mustard.

Mr. Mustard was born  in Toms Creek, VA, a son of the late Vivien A. Mustard and Florence Bell Mustard. For 23 years, he proudly served our country in the U.S. Army until his retirement as a CW4 in 1975. While serving in the military, Mr. Mustard earned a BA and two MBAs. In June of 1975, he began his second career at the National Security Agency (NSA) where he served as a Senior Executive for 15 years.   After retiring from the NSA, he served for more than 20 years as a volunteer service officer for the veteran\"™s service organizations in Crossville, TN and Lynchburg, VA.   Mr. Mustard was a member of the Military Officers Association of America, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Inurnment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars or The Summit Benevolent Association.
