Donald Lee Wheeler

Donald Lee Wheeler, 73, of Scottsville, Va., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 14, 2025, after a lengthy illness, with his wife by his side. In his final days and weeks, he was surrounded by many loved ones and dear friends.

Donald was born February 2, 1952, in Charlottesville, Va. to the late John Daniel Wheeler, Sr. and Irene Elizabeth Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his sister Caroline Elizabeth Wells.

Donald was the owner of A-to-Z Electronics, where he was well known to the CB world as "Triple-Deuce" or "Southern Comfort". He loved spending time traveling with his wife to Myrtle Beach and spending time at their camper. He also loved riding around the campground in their golf cart and RTV, going out to eat, and just hopping in the car and going for a long ride with his wife. When he was able, he loved going fishing with his brother.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sharon, and his son, Scott Wheeler and wife Sherri; grandchildren Ryan Wheeler, and his wife Lauren, and Caryn Wheeler, and her boyfriend Hunter; great grandchildren Luke Wheeler and Carter Wheeler; brother John Wheeler and his wife Joyce; nephews Duane Wheeler and Derrick Wheeler, and his wife Melody; great nephew and niece, Jonathan Wheeler and Gabi Mulder-Matthews; sister-in-law Debby Armstrong, and many other special friends.

Donald took joy in telling people about the Lord and leading them to salvation. He held John 3:16, which says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" close to his heart.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Palliative Home Care and Hospice of the Piedmont for taking such great care of Donald in his last months, and to Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory of Bedford, Va.

A memorial service will be held April 4, 2025, at 2pm at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 5401 Watts Passage, Charlottesville, Va 22911. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
