Donna Lee Johnson, 67, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Clifton Forge, VA on January 13, 1950. A daughter of the late Nelson “Tex” Ray and Winifred Webster Johnson.
She is survived by her sister Diane Johnson, Bedford: sister and brother-in-law Dee and Lee Bright, Roanoke; nephew, Chris Bright; and aunt, Mildred Johnson, Clifton Forge.
Donna loved the outdoors. She often spent her time riding horses and spending time on her farm with her animals. She was a staff member of the Bedford County Hunt Club. Donna was a graduate of Radford University, and a member of the Radford Redcoats Equestrian Team. After college she started her career with Roanoke City Schools in teaching. Afterwards she accepted a job with Norfolk and Southern Railroad. She retired in 2015 after 30 years of service to the railroad.

A memorial service and celebration of Donna’s life will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford.
