Donna Pierce Shepard, 69, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, September 29, 2016. Donna was born February 7, 1947 in Waterbury, Conn., a daughter of the late Donald and Edith Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by grandparents, Howard and Ethel Turner.
She attended school in Conn. and Findlay College, Ohio. Donna retired from Munaco Packing and Rubber in Greenville, S.C. Family was the most important part of her life. Her passions were decorating her home, working in her garden, and surprising others with gifts. Words cannot describe what a wonderful and strong woman Donna was.
She is survived by her son, Neil Swartz and wife, Shannon; daughter, Samantha Foster and husband, Robb; grandchildren, Jake Swartz, Ragan Swartz, and River Foster; sister, Pamela Gorton and husband, David; nephew, Jason Gorton; niece, Jodi Chapman; and numerous relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Miriam’s House at www.miriamshouseprogram.org. A private celebration of her life will be held by her friends and family.
