Donnie Marie Harvey

Donnie Marie Harvey, 63, of Lynchburg Virginia, transitioned on October 20, 2024. She was the daughter of Lillie Mae Harvey of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Donnie was born on January 5, 1961, in Lynchburg. Donnie was employed for many years at Holiday Inn Express. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Garfield and Anna Mae Harvey and her brother Eddie Harvey.

Anybody who knew Donnie, knew she loved 3 things in particular…reading her books, shopping online and going to the casinos (ESPECIALLY PLAYING THE FISH TABLES!!!!)

She is survived by her children, Pamela “Smurf” Harvey (Jamaica), Chaka “Missy” Harvey, Malik “Worm” Harvey all of Lynchburg Virginia. Grandchildren Sandra, Yuniq, Essence and Miracle (Kyron) of Petersburg Virginia. Great grandchildren Treasure, Ky’arie Olaya, Precious and Zayden. Siblings Willie Harvey (Tonya) of Lynchburg and Wanda Harvey of Harrisonburg. Close friends Teresa Bowling, Bridgette Taliaferro, Yolanda White, Ellen Hutcherson and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and other friends, and a grand dog (Snoop).

A memorial service will be held on Friday November 01, 2024, at 4:30pm at the Tharp Chapel in Lynchburg, Virginia. 

God saw you getting tired

And a cure was not to be

So he put his arms around you

And said “come with me”

With tearful eyes we watched you

And saw you pass away

Although we loved you dearly

We could not make you stay

A golden heart stopped beating

You were finally at rest

God broke our hearts to prove to us
