Dora A. Hendricks, 63, went home to be with Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 23, 2011 at 8:53 p.m. She was born in Lima, Peru on December 5, 1948.
Dora, the strong and determined fighter that we all knew and loved, has finally triumphed over her disease and now has her reward in Heaven. Her love of the Lord provided her with comfort and joy. Her family and friends thank God for bringing her into their lives with her special love and compassion for everyone.
This angel of God is survived by her loving husband, William E. Hendricks, her lovely daughter, Colleen Nicholson, her only grandson, Michael Nicholson, her sisters and their husbands, Ana and Rev. George Hatmaker, Martha and Bob Vlassick, and brother, Jose Arnao. Other surviving family members are her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norwood and Nancy Shorter, sisters-in-law, Scotty and husband John Gatch and their children, Lisa Harris and her children, a brother-in-law, Kevin and wife Bonnie Shorter, her step-sons, Shane and wife Shannon Hendricks and their children, B.J. Hendricks, step-daughters and their husbands, Robyn and Dave Jackson and their child, Becky and Benny Tomlison and their children, Donna and James Burley and their child, and Tammy and Steve Mikkleson and their children.
She is survived by a host of loving relatives and special friends, Carol Tyree, Charlene Blondino, Karen Wade, and so many more. Also, her home care givers, Tonya Huffman, Cynthia McDaniel and Hospice care nurses.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother Dora A. Arnao , her older sister, Beatriz Mejia, and her younger brother, Luis A. Arnao.

Dora was an active member of Mead Memorial UMC until her health failed.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend George Hatmaker and the Reverend Jim Critchley officiating. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. A luncheon will follow at Mead Memorial UMC.
