Dora Crews Eubank, 87, of Lynchburg, died December 18, 2011. She was born on October 1, 1924 to the late Marvin W. Crews and the late Clarice H. Crews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia M. Stevens; husband, Bernard K. Eubank; brother, Marvin W. Crews; sisters, Jane C. Fuller and her husband Les, Clarice C. (Polly) Shumate, Elizabeth C. (Betty) Hubbard, and Patsy B. Crews; and brother-in-law, Harry S. Routon.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Cynthia A. Stevens, of Midlothian, Virginia; a sister, Selene C. Routon, of Palm Harbor, Florida; brothers, William F. (Dick) Crews and his wife Mary, of Midlothian, Virginia, and Dayton L. Crews and his wife Rosie, of Burke, Virginia; sister-in-law, Zada W. Crews of Lynchburg; brothers-in-law, John M. Shumate, Jr. of Roanoke, Virginia, and Harold Hubbard of Hendersonville, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by members of the Eubank family: George and Anne Eubank, Margaret and Cabell Crews, Dot Hance, Reva Turner, and nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted mother, wife, aunt, and friend to many. She loved her family and her church. She was a charter member of Heritage United Methodist Church and the former Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for more than fifty years. She retired from the United States Postal Service after more than 30 years of service.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Heritage United Methodist Church with Pastor William Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
