Dora “Dodie” Snidow
Dora \"Dodie\" Kirkpatrick Snidow, 89, of Lynchburg died Tuesday July 2, 2013. Twice widowed, she was the wife of her first husband the late Clyde L. Finch, Jr. and the late Clifton Leonard Snidow, Jr.
Dodie was born June 2, 1924 in Chapel Hill, NC a daughter of the late Stokes Madison Kirkpatrick and the late Lucille Owen Kirkpatrick. Dodie honorably served her country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and worked for many years as the church secretary at First Baptist Church. She was also a member of First Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter Marguerite Patricia (Pat) Finch Forrest of Lynchburg. In addition to both husbands and parents she was preceded in death by a sister Frances Kirkpatrick Gauzza.
A Celebration of Dodie\"™s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. Nathan Brooks officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
