Doris Clare Muniz, 89, of Forest, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at home. She was the devoted wife of John Francis Muniz for 68 years.
She was born on January 29, 1926, in Union City, N.J., a daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna O’Leary. Doris was a long time member of Saint Thomas More Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Culla; and her infant son, Daniel Muniz.
Doris is survived by her husband, John F. Muniz; her two sons, Thomas F. Muniz and his wife, Susan C. of Lynchburg, Va., and David J. Muniz and his wife, Catherine of Galloway, N.J.; eight grandchildren and their families, Daniel Muniz and his wife, Emily, and their daughter, Ava, Kevin Muniz and his wife, Jessica, and their son, Benjamin, Mark Muniz and his children, Alexis, Aaron, and Gianna, Margaret Kathleen Muniz Kandies and her husband, Chris Kandies, Lauren Muniz, Kaiya Muniz, Jeremy Muniz, and Miranda Muniz; and her goddaughter, Elaine Stohler.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Saint Thomas More Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, November 28, 2015. A funeral mass will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Msgr. Michael D. McCarron officiating, followed by inurnment at the church columbarium.
