Doris Drewry Foster of Lynchburg died on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Medical Care Center after a long illness. She was the wife of the late James Camp Foster, Sr.
Doris was born November 27, 1928 in Lynchburg; she was the daughter of the late Frank Drewry and the late Viola Layne Drewry. She was retired from Revco Drug Store and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: James C. Foster, Jr. and Delores Foster both of Lynchburg; Diane F. Smith and her husband Kenny of Forest. Her seven grandchildren: Cathy Bush, Beth Foster-Tran, John Foster, Crystal Overstreet, April Wright, Brandy Wright and Bobby Smith and five great-grandchildren, a brother Robert Drewry of Lynchburg, and two sisters: Betty Watts of Rustburg and Sarah D. Perkins of St. Petersburg, FL.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Joyce Dearing and Phyllis Goins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Medical Care Center and Centra Health Hospice. Special thanks also to her special caregivers Pam and LiLBit and her special roommate Mrs. Moorefield.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday June 2, 2010 at Meade Cemetery, Madison Heights.
