Doris Jane Dodd Pryor

Pryor, Doris Jane Dodd,78, of Midlothian, VA, formerly of Lynchburg, VA, passed peacefully on Sept. 24, 2014. She joined her high school sweetheart, favorite dancer, and husband, Tommy, on their annual Fall trip to the Outer Banks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher Banks and Paulina Moore Dodd; her husband, John Thomas Pryor III; her daughter, Lisa Ann Pryor. Also preceding her in death, sister, Frances North; brothers, James Dodd, Eggleston Dodd, Hezzie Dodd, and Wesley Dodd.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Pryor Dawson, and husband, Randall; brother, Wilbur Dodd; sisters-in-law, Betty Pryor Flinchum and Jackie Dodd. Also surviving are her beloved “grands” who will miss their Mamaw: granddaughters, Lauren Dail (Chris), Sarah Ruppert (Shawn), and Ellyn Dawson; great-granddaughters, Madelynn Ruppert, Kinsley Dail, Aubrie Ruppert; great-grandson, Asher Dail. She is also survived by numerous dear nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a future date in Nags Head, N.C.
