Doris Louise Nuckles

Doris Louise Nuckles, 82, of Brookneal, died Saturday July 28, 2012. She was the wife of the late Floyd (Buddy) Nuckles.

Born July 24, 1930 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late James Mitchell Blankenship and the late Carrie Brooks Blankenship. 

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter in-law, Patricia Blankenship.

Doris is survived by a son, Warren Blankenship, a daughter Debora Goodman, and her husband Kenneth; four grandchildren: Cynthia May, Lisa Lloyd, and her husband Ronnie, Diane Tolley-Brown and her husband, Jason, Brandon Goodman; and 6 great grandchildren: Tabitha Lloyd, Erin Tolley, Zachary Tolley, Kaitlyn May, Carly May, and Andrew Lloyd.

Doris was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Monday, July 30, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 pm, with the Rev. Carlton Duck officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 am in Spring Hill Cemetery.
