Doris Marie (Ree) Rose Cutshaw
d. December 22, 2017
Doris Marie (Ree) Rose Cutshaw, age 76, of Bedford, VA, transitioned to her heavenly home Friday, December 22, 2017, at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Lewis Paschal Rose and her second husband, Billy Joe Cutshaw.
Doris was born July 29, 1941 in Bedford, Va., a daughter of the late Lonzi Overstreet and Gracie Bell Overstreet. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated much of her time to her family. She especially enjoyed the company of her Yorkshire Terroir companion, Puff. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Doris is survived by her sons, James Rose (Sharon), Avery Rose (Kim Taylor); step-sons, Jimmy Cutshaw (Shelia), and Davis Cutshaw (Janet); grandchildren, Jennifer Rose (Oscar), Christian Rose (Lauren), Abby Hensley (Joey); step-grandchildren, Mandy Craighead (Denny), Teresa Ashwell (Gregory), Kelli Harvery (Nick), and Christopher Cutshaw (Catie); great-grandchildren, Leya, Alex, Arianna, Kendal, Khloe; sister, Laura O. Tweety, Carolyn Anderson, Shirley Hensley (Clyde); and Debbie McKinney (Willie).
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, James Overstreet, Lettie Robertson, Ethel Hall, and Mary Bouton.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford. A graveside service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on December 27, 2017 in Rose Family Cemetery.
