Doris Reynolds Parker

Doris Fenity Reynolds Parker, 84, of Bedford, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 in Centra Hospice House. She was born in September 18, 1927 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Lydia Wood Fenity and William Fenity.

Doris was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and was most recently attending Center Point United Methodist Church. She retired from Rubatex Corp with over 25 years of service.

Doris was known within the family as the peacemaker with her kind and sweet heartedness. She showed much adoration towards her loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by both husbands, James B. \"Buckeye\" Reynolds and Samuel L. Parker. She is survived by two daughters, Kandy R. Shackelford and Nancy R. Hanner and her husband, Mickey all of Bedford; four grandchildren, Nicole S. Johnson and her husband, Willie, Jessica Shackelford and her friend, Jeremy Roach, Gregg Hanner and his wife, Jenny and Wendy D. Hanner all of Bedford; three great-grandchildren, Evan McKinley Hanner, Taylor McKenzie Wolhfert and Luke William Johnson all of Bedford; a cousin, Irvin Wood of Roanoke; and a special person she considered a daughter, Freda Easterly.

A celebration of Doris\"™ life will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, October 22, 2011 in the Tharp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Friday, October 21, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
