Dorothy Adele Robinson Ritter, 93, of Lynchburg, VA, died Sunday, February 09, 2014. She was the wife of the late Eric Ritter for 54 years.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Diane Wilson and her husband, Terry, of Lynchburg, VA, Ronald Ritter and his wife, Barbara, of West Grove, PA, Bruce Ritter and his wife, Betsy, of Frederick, MD, nine grandchildren: Dawn Chalmers and her husband, Michael, Eric Ritter and his wife, Michele, Kevin Wilson, Kimberly Geier and her husband, Bill, Kathleen Wilson, Danny Wilson and his wife, Liz, Jennifer Sadtler and her husband, Sean, Robert Ritter, Michael Ritter and his wife, Valerie Schrader, ten great grandchildren, and a sister in-law, Margaret Robinson, of Long Island City, NY.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth and George Robinson.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved life. She was the glue that formed and nurtured her family and their friends together into a close, loving family. Dorothy was an active church member, attending St. Paul\"™s in Woodside, St. Luke\"™s in Tulsa, St. Paul\"™s\"™ in Levittown, and St. Barnabas in Lynchburg. She taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir, was the church warden, participated in the women\"™s guild, visiting the sick and shut-in, and was a lay reader. She loved to knit, making sweaters and hats for her grandchildren. She was an avid game player with cards and board games, and had many friends who shared her enthusiasm. In later years she was a teacher\"™s aid at Eisenhower Elementary School in Levittown, driven by her love of children. Even as Alzheimer\"™s robbed her of her memory, she was always smiling, kind and considerate to all around her.
A church service will be conducted at St. Paul\"™s Episcopal Church, 89 Pinewood Drive, Levittown, PA. at 1:00 PM on Sunday February 16, 2014, with visitation at 12:00 PM. Internment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
