Dorothy Marie Coleman Hayes, 93, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020. She was married to the late Robert L. Hayes.
Born Wednesday, September 15, 1926 in Hardin, Mo. Dorothy was a daughter of the late Henry Lee Coleman, and the late Ruth Elizabeth Blann Coleman Pfeifer.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Belinda Deberry Secrest, and her husband, Jeffrey Graham Secrest, of Lynchburg; Kenneth Deberry of Smithville, Mo.; grandsons, Jeffrey Graham Secrest, II his wife, Elizabeth Ann, and daughter Ellington Cordelia, Scott Whitaker Secrest his wife, Mary, and their daughter, Ava Jane.
Prior to moving to Lynchburg, while living in Parkville, Mo., Dorothy worked at Bretton’s Restaurant and Copper Lounge, and later with Hardin-Stockton as a Realtor.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice, and many others who helped with her care over the years.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
