Dorothy Mawyer "Dot" Giles

Dorothy Mawyer “Dot” Giles, age 70, of 78 Acorn Drive, Rustburg, died Friday, December 28, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Wayne Giles for 30 years. Dot was born January 15, 1948 in Charlottesville, VA, the daughter of the late Herman and Nellie Mawyer.

She is also survived by a son Dean Callahan; two stepdaughters Cheryl Mann (Ricky) and Debbie Wooldridge; two sisters Nancy Ogden (Sonny) and Joyce Purvis; one granddaughter Alexson Williams; two step-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, one step-great-great grandson, and five special nieces.

Dot was co-owner of Foxbriar gift shop in Altavista, VA until her retirement. Her greatest love after retirement was to travel the US and that she did. But her special love was TEXAS

Respecting Dot’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation. The family respectfully requests privacy at this time.
