Dorothy “Maxine” Mays
Dorothy \"Maxine\" Cunningham Mays, 72, of Lynchburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. She was the wife of the late Frederick Alexandria Mays, Sr.
Born August 6, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James and Frances Sale Cunningham.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Frederick A. Mays, Jr. and wife, Lisa; Dorinda Mawyer; Shannon Arrington and husband, Bobby; and Sheri Johnson, her siblings: Pug Wise (a special sister who cared for her); Jimmy Cunningham and wife, Patsy; Dink Cunningham and wife, Melynda; a brother-in-law, Charles Raymond Mays; her grandchildren: Daniel, Ashleigh, Alex, Travis, Eric, Corey, and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Anna and George Hatmaker for their loving care for Dorothy.
A visitation will be held today, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
