Dorothy Nolte Schmich

Dorothy Nolte Schmich, 78, of Forest, died Monday, March 15, 2010.  She was the wife of Edgerley M. Schmich.

Mrs. Schmich was born April 6, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Ronald and Elizabeth Cochrane Willock.  She served as a teacher for Roanoke County and was a member of Forest Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sandra Schaack and her husband, Ross of Goode, Kenneth Nolte and his wife, Janifer of York, PA, and Ronald Nolte and his wife, Leigh of Vienna, VA; her step-children, Paul Schmich and his wife, Eileen of Hauppauge, NY, Nancy Schmich of Middletown, NY, Jeffrey Schmich and his wife, Marilyn of Easport, NY, and Stewart Schmich and his wife, Pamela of East Northport, NY; her grandchildren, Nathan, Alexander, Andrea and Spencer, Michel and Crislaine, Eric, Pamela and Douglas, Brooke, Emily, Lydia and Kenneth, Sam and Haley, and Emma and Thomas; as well as her great-grandchildren, Joy, Faith and Jeremy.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Morgan Whitfield officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the Club House at the Jefferson Villas, Jefferson Way, Forest, VA.
