Dorothy Ort DeFilippis, 88, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015.
Born in Califon, NJ on June 18, 1926 to the late Stewart and Naomi Ort, Mrs. DeFilippis made Mendham, NJ her home from 1930 to 1998. She and her husband Samuel, were owners of Sammy’s Auto Body Shop in Mendham for 47 years. Mrs. DeFilippis was a member of St. Joseph’s Church while residing in Mendham. In 1998, Mrs. DeFilippis moved to Moneta, VA.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Samuel of Moneta, VA; a daughter, Pamela D’Agostino and her husband, August, of Terrell, NC; a son, Peter and his wife, Phyllis, of Moneta, VA; a daughter Patricia Bolio, and her husband, Michael, of Cary, NC; and a daughter Phyllis Howell, and her husband, Brant, of Moneta, VA. She also leave behind eight grandchildren, Melissa Safrit, Philip D’Agostino, Michelle DeFilippis, Amanda Caldwell, Andrew DeFilippis, Ashley Plautz, Brittany Howell, Michael Bolio, and seven great-grandchildren, Heaven, Xuliana, and Levi DeFilippis, Katherine and Mia Safrit, Alyssa Janney, and Livia Plautz as well as several nieces and nephews.
