Dorothy “Dot” Russell Richeson , 96, of Lynchburg, Va., died Friday, July 7, 2017. She was the wife of the late George Prince Richeson.
Dorothy was born Friday, May 13, 1921 in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late Benjamin Dawson Russell and Mary Mignonette Hayden Russell. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a Young at Heart member. Dot retired from Baldwin’s Department Store where she was a manager and buyer.
She is survived by her son, George Donald Richeson Sr.; two grandchildren, George Donald Richeson Jr. and Teresa Ann Delawder; four great-grandchild, Chance Wade Richeson, Zane Henry Richeson, Orin Wayne Richeson and Makenzie Ann Delawder;.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Catherine Ann Russell Harris and Edith Madeline Russell Wilson,; two brothers, Benjamin Dawson Russell and Charles Wilmer Russell.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 10 on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. J. Kenneth Rush. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
