Douglas Michael Garrett

Douglas Michael Garrett, 69, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born November 20, 1944 in Bradford, Ontario, Canada, a son of Marie Nora \"Babe\" Graham Garrett and the late Douglas Harry Garrett.

Douglas was a member of Church Alive International. He also served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was a retiree of RR Donnelly.

In addition to his mother, Douglas is survived by his wife of 17 years, Pamela Wright Garrett; a daughter, Alicia Noelle Garrett of Roanoke; step-daughter, Andrea Nichole Cooper of Lynchburg; and three brothers, James F. Garrett of Orlando, FL, Patrick J. Garrett of Forest, and Michael D. Garrett of Bedford.

A celebration of Douglas\"™s life will be conducted at 11 AM, Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Tharp Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vannie Harrell officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the National Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
