Dr. Guy Wilson Walton,74, of Lynchburg, Va. passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on April 30, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents Guy Wilson, Sr. and Rachel Cash Chapman.
Guy was born on December 20, 1946 in Danville, Va. Being a practicing dentist in Hurt, Va. for nearly 48 years he retired in October 2017. He truly loved dentistry, his wonderful office staff, and patients. He looked forward to going to work, every day, for all those 48 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Cindi Walton, son Geoffrey Lester and his wife, Erin; his grandchildren, Hayes and Mason Lester; brother and sister-in-law, Trent and Stephanie Stephan; cousins, Kurt Merchant and his wife Carol, Kristy Clay and David Worrell; numerous friends he considers family; and his sweet four-legged babies, Lola and Star.
His hobby and main interests were his love for the water, boating, and being an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla # 85, Altavista, since January 1974, He received many commendations over the years for his boating instruction, training and educational classes, besides being the financial officer for years.
A celebration of Guy’s life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Chaplin Susan Allen and Rabbi John Nimon officiating. The family will have a brief reception following the service.
