Dr. John “Jack” Tuttle, Sr.

Dr. John \"Jack\" Newton Tuttle, Sr., 85, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Oakwood Manor Health & Rehab. Born in Orange, NJ on April 21, 1927 a son of the late John N. Tuttle and Frances Walscheid Demarest.

Jack served his country in the United States Army Air Corp from 1945 until 1947. He graduated from Boonton High School in Boonton, NJ. Jack received his Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hall University and went to further his education from Kansas St. University with his Doctorate of Veterinarian Medicine and being a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was the Past President and board member of the Peguannock, NJ Rotary Club where he was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He also served with the Peguannock Chamber of Commerce. Jack served as a deacon at the Church of Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Towaco, NJ. He was very active and thorough member of the American Legion for 55 years. He loved all animals, woodworking, airplanes, especially experimental aircrafts. He was a member of the EAA and AOPA.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Linda Jenner Tuttle; three children, John Newton Tuttle, Jr., of Hoboken, NJ, Patricia Tuttle Winslow and her husband, Zeb, Jr, of Scotland Neck, NC and Susan Tuttle Harney and her husband, Timothy of, Granger, IA; four grandchildren, Zeb Winslow, III, Dr. Barbara Winslow Warren, Au. D. and her husband, Jason, T.J. Schouten and his wife, Heather and Kayla Marie Hillenga and her husband, Lance; three Step-granddaughters, Abbi Rae Williams and her husband, Patrick, Heather Marie Calderon and her husband, Kevin and Whitney Lynn Harney; 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, William V. Jenner and his wife, JoAnn and Alan R. Jenner and his wife, Gayle; a sister-in-law, Jane Jenner McKeon and her husband, Jim.

A memorial celebration of Jack\"™s life will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford, (540)-586-3443.
