Dr. Lawrence Max Howard, Jr., 87, of Lynchburg died, April 4, 2010. He was the loving husband of Ann Campbell Howard.
Born January 21, 1923 in Bedford VA he was a son of the late Lawrence Max Howard and the late Mabel Hubbard Howard.
Dr. Howard attended VPI, graduated from Medical College of VA (VCU). He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Tech, German Club, U. S. Nave-Korean War, Medical Society of Virginia, Lynchburg Academy of Medicine, Chief of Staff of Virginia Baptist, Lynchburg General and Memorial Hospitals, Horticulture Society and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
In addition to his wife, Dr. Howard is survived by his children: Lawrence Max (Butch) Howard, III of Virginia Beach; Lucie Howard Moore and her husband, Geoffrey of Newport Beach, CA; K. Campbell Howard and wife Deborah (Debbie) of Brentwood, TN; grandchildren: Lawrence Max Howard, IV, Brandon Lee Howard, Ryan Butler Howard, Taylor Augustus Moore, Rebecca Walker Moore, Sarah Campbell Moore, Peyton Delaney Howard and Lucie Burnet Howard.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Howard was predeceased by a sister, Keith Cawthon, Waller Howard; a brother, Kenneth Dawn Howard.
Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Monday April 12th at 10 o\"™clock with John Scholer presiding. A reception will follow in the Commons at Westminster Canterbury.
