Dr. Reed Allen Ness

Dr. Reed Allen Ness, 60, of Amherst, passed away on June 28, 2017. He was the husband of Cindy Joann Ness for 40 years.
Born Sunday, November 11, 1956, in York, PA, Reed was a son of Norma Dedrick Ness and the late Paul Ness.
In addition to his wife and mother Reed is survived by his children, Reed A. Ness, II, Rebekah Kress and her husband, Charles, and Nathanael Ness; grandchildren, Ava Rae Ness, John Tristan Kress, Lacie Grace Kress, and Scarlett Joellyn Ness; brothers, Michael Ness, Gregory Ness, and Mark Ness; a sister, Paula Ness; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Reed was an amazing and loving husband, father, and poppy. He was a Southern Baptist Pastor for 24 years, who dedicated his life to serve the Lord Jesus. He was a US Navy Veteran who took pride in our country. He achieved many accomplishments throughout his life. He will forever be loved and missed.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Campbell Avenue Baptist Church, with a celebration of Reed’s life following at 3:45 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Dotson officiating.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to Campbell Avenue Baptist Church, 3705 Campbell Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501
