Dr. Robert Di Giulio, M.D.
On April 22, 2011, our world became a poorer place with the tragic loss of a remarkable, beloved husband, father, son and brother. Robert (Bob) H. Di Giulio, a long-term Lynchburg resident and medical doctor, died suddenly when his private plane crashed as he was returning home to Lynchburg.
Bob was born in Ann Arbor, MI, to Sandra and Hugo (deceased) Di Giulio on December 3, 1960, and was raised in CA. But his life truly began 23 years ago when he met his wife and soulmate, Fazila, while studying abroad in England. Over the past 23 years, Bob and Fazila raised two children, managed successful medical careers, and traveled the world.
Bob is survived by his wife, Fazila, beloved children Danny and Yasmine, his mother, Sandra and her partner, Wasson; sisters: Elizabeth and Jo Ann, and brother, Tony, as well as extended family in Michigan, Connecticut, Mauritius, England, France, Canada, and Italy.
He will be sorely missed by family, friends, and the community alike.
Memorial Services will be held at Tharp Funeral Home on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM.
