Dr. Rose Marie Mcglade

Dr. Rose Marie Morecock McGlade passed away on Monday, December 13 at the Williams Home in Lynchburg.

She was born and raised in Henrico County, attended William and Mary, and was one of the first women doctors graduated from the Medical College of Virginia.  After completing her internship in Norfolk, she practiced at Children's Hospital in San Francisco, then with the Virginia Health Department in the counties around Roanoke.  Dr. McGlade retired from civilian service with the Army in the Richmond area.

She was married to the late Raymond McGlade and is survived by a daughter, Susan Warren, son-in-law, Chuck, four grandchildren, Charlie, Danielle, Ben and Zach; and numerous nieces, cousins and friends.

An informal gathering for friends will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 18 at the Williams Home, 1201 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 20 in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Avenue, Richmond.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 710 Clay Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504.
