Morris and his wife, Deborah of Lynchburg. Hill was a draftsman/designer for 45 years and retired from Harris Corporation.
Hill was born in Pleasant View, a community of Amherst County, Va. on April 26, 1946, to the late Davis Hill McDaniel and the late Emily Davis McDaniel Morris. He is also preceded in death by his step-father, Fred William Morris.
Hill grew up in Amherst County, Va. and graduated from Amherst County High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from High School and began his married life in Lynchburg, Va.
Hill was a loving husband and caring father to his family. He was a faithful servant to God and Jesus Christ. He was a long-time member of Peakland United Methodist Church where he often served as Greeter, Usher, and assisted with other committees to help the Church and its membership.
Hill loved our country and was a proud American. He was a true friend and always had a kind word, smile on his face, and laugh in his heart. He found joy in the simple things of life; creating a loving home with his wife, creating memories with his daughter, and spending time with his family and dear friends. Fishing trips with good friends and family were an annual tradition for Hill. He was an avid sports fan, especially college and professional football and college basketball. He loved his University of Virginia Wahoos, Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He was a lifelong golfer and he spent many years perfecting his game surrounded by wonderful friends while playing. He was a true southern gentleman and a very dapper dresser. He loved music, especially country, southern rock, and beach music. He was the life of the party and a very sought-after dance partner at every dance he attended. He was a kind and gentle soul and everyone that ever met him loved his presence.
