Earl Morris Davis Jr., 81, of Forest VA died Friday, November 4, 2016. He was the husband of Carrie Agnes Terry Davis for 62 years.
Born Monday, July 01, 1935 in Lynchburg. Earl was a son of the late Earl Morris Davis, Sr. and the late Rosalie Thomas Davis.
In addition to his wife Earl is survived by two daughters, Diane D. Wilson, of Rustburg, and Kelly D. Mann, of Forest, a son, William Alan (Billy) Davis, of Lynchburg. Jeff Wilson, husband of Diane. Brad Mann, husband of Kelly, and Charlotte Davis, wife of Billy Davis. Grandchildren: Jeffrey Wilson, Jacob Davis, Brittany Morris, Peyton Mann, Se’Anna Mann, and Dalton Mann. Great grandchildren: Kinsley Wilson and a cousin Patsy R. Singleton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alan Morris Davis.
Earl was the owner of Davis Auto Service, Lynchburg for over 50 years. He was a member and a usher of Thomas Road Baptist Church. He worked on the Campbell County Rescue in his early years. Earl had a passion and a love for dogs, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and clothes. He was passionate about passing God’s word to anyone he came in contact with by giving of a “Jesus First” pin or a “Not I, But Christ” car sticker. Earl’s greatest accomplishments were his wife, children and grandchildren. He was very proud of each of them. Earl will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 06, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Earl’s life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 07, 2016 at Pate Chapel in Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery.
