Earl Raymond Simonin

Earl Raymond Simonin, Sr., 77, of Amherst passed away at his residence on Monday, July 7, 2014. He was the husband of Theresa Krok Simonin.
Born June 25, 1937 in Dallas Texas, he was the son of the late Henry Simonin and the late Evelyn Hyson Simonin Saunders. Earl is also preceded in death by a son; Christopher Simonin.
In addition to his wife, Earl is also survived by his children: Brian Kuska, Angela Simonin Ballowe, Milton Leonard Hare, Brianna Johnston, Lalasa Pollard, Earl Raymond Simonin, Jr. Cheryl Whitesell, Thomas Simonin and his wife, Tracie; brother: John Saunders; sister-in-law: Patricia Krok Elder; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Earl attended Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years of service. He was Chief Engineer at Virginia Beach General Hospital. Machinist in shop 38 at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia, he spent 25 years as contract Manager with Service Master Ind., and 5 years as Maintenance Supervisor at Amherst County Public Schools. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 9877. Earl was a member of Clifford Baptist Church in Amherst.
The family will receive friends today, July 9, 2014 at Clifford Baptist Church from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
