Earlean Martha Jones Peerman departed this life on Monday, November 29, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born in Campbell County, VA., June 12, 1942 to the late Robert Berkley Jones Sr. and late Magnolia Jones. She was preceded in death by her sister Leonia J. Franklin and brother Clyde “Duval” Jones. She studied nursing in her younger years and was passionate about caring for others. Earlean lived by the motto “If I can help someone as I pass along the way then my living will not be in vain”. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined the New Free Spring Baptist Church. She loved her church and served in several ministries Hospitality, Usher and Deaconess; recently serving as the President of the Deaconess Ministry. After retiring from Rock Tenn formerly Mead Corporation she began working as a health care professional at Westminster Canterbury until permanently retiring to enjoy time with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of forty-four years Sherwin Peerman. Her sons, Preston “Sam” Dixon Jr. of Lynchburg, VA and Terrence (Jan) Peerman of Evington, VA; daughters, Annette Francis of Hampton, VA; Tanial (Anthony) Lowe of Fort Worth, TX and Lisa Calloway of Forest, VA. One of her proudest titles was “Nana” to her grandchildren Craig Francis Jr., Aubrey (Alan) Lancaster, Harvey Allen, Alonna Dixon, Jordan Calloway, Ryan Francis, Tahj Peerman, Everett Lowe and Sameria Dixon. Godmother to Kristal (Marlin) Taylor of Suffolk, VA and Frank (Trina) Long III of Sterling, VA. She is also survived by her beloved brothers William (Arlean – devoted sister in-law) Jones and Robert Jones Jr. all of Lynchburg, VA; sister in-laws Rev. Theresa (Rev. Frank) Long of South Boston, VA; Alvenia Peerman of Virginia Beach, VA and brother in-law Stanley (Melissa) Peerman Sr. of Gladys, VA. Special cousins she cherished as sisters Mary (James) Marshall of Lynchburg, VA and Naomi (Ray) Jones of Gladys, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021, at New Free Spring Baptist Church, Rustburg, Va. The family will received friends Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Family request due to Covid to wear mask.
