Edison Vermont Hansen
Edison Vermont Hansen, 85 of Gladstone, Virginia died on Friday, December 21, 2012, at Fairmont Crossing in Amherst, Virginia. He was the husband of Nellie Tyree Hansen for 58 years.
Born Wednesday, May 4, 1927,in Greenville, Michigan, he was the son of the late Bert Hansen and the late Josephine Dazey Hansen.
In addition to his wife Red is survived by his children: Peggy Charles and her husband Alfie, of Jacksonville, NC, Lois Lucado and her husband, Phillip, of Appomattox, and Patrick Hansen and his wife, Stephanie, of Gladstone; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Red was preceded in death by a son Jerry W. Hansen, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters.
Red was a retired SP5 having proudly served our country as a member of the US Army during WWII. He also retired from Flowers Bakery.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday December 29, 2012 in New Beginning Tabernacle located at 1886 S. Coolwell Road Madison Heights, Virginia 24572 with the Rev. Scott Flow officiating.
