Edith Gwendolyn Johnson Williams, 81, of Bedford, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born in Bedford, Virginia on December 20, 1928 a daughter of the late Carey Johnson and Effie Belle Hughes Johnson.She confessed Christ at an early age at Washington Street Baptist Church. She worked as an LPN with Bedford Memorial Hospital for 35 plus years. She loved spending time with family and friends while cooking and serving them with hospitality. Edith is survived by her loving husband, Frank A. Williams; five children, Dennis Murphy and his wife, Marionette, Sharon Foxx and her husband, Alfred, Ferris Murphy and his wife, Rita, Georgiann Watts and her husband, Tom, Gwendolyn Lewis and her husband, Robert; her nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Johnson, Sr. and his wife, Hannah.A celebration of Edith\"™s life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Washington Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. H.A. Henderson officiating with burial to follow in the Fairmont Cemetery.
