Edna Geraldine "Geri" Williams Cousart

Mrs. Edna Geraldine “Geri” Williams Cousart, Age 96, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on November 29, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late Frank James Williams and June Bayne Williams, and the wife of Cyril “Sonny” Gomar Cousart.

Mrs. Cousart was born on March 27, 1927, in Lynchburg, Virginia.  She maintained her love of reading while employed at The Rule Bookshop. She further pursued her love for community interaction through employment at Commonwealth Lighting until her retirement.  

Mrs. Cousart was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. She also enjoyed volunteering at The Clothes Closet.

Mrs. Cousart is survived by her children, Cindy Jaeger (Robin) of Lynchburg, VA., Mary Shearer (Lee) of Lynchburg, VA., Lisa Shores (Jerry) of Forest, VA.; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Cousart; grandchildren, Shaina (Tripp), Lewis, Matthew, Brandon (Karen), Drew (Morgan), Devin (Sara), Justin (Ana), Lauren (Eric), Daniel (Courtney), Tayler (Ricky), Ethan (Amanda), Logan (Morgan), Stacey (Sue), Christie; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and many loving friends in the community

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cousart is predeceased by her first husband, Arturo Umberto Zechini; daughter, Beverly Anthony; stepson, John C. Cousart; step-brothers, Lawson, Lawrence, Russell, and Frank Williams, Jr.; brothers, Charles, Benny, and Tunney Williams; step-sister, Ethel Mays; sisters, Marguerite Gottshall and Myrtle Knopp.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 12 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with visitation being held one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or More Aid (St. Thomas More Outreach Program).
