Edna Franklin Mayhew, 89, of Lynchburg died Saturday, September 18, 2010.
Edna was born Thursday, July 14, 1921 in Lynchburg a daughter of the late James Edward Franklin and the late Elnora Lankford Franklin. She was retired from A. H. Robbins, Richmond where she worked for more than 15 years. She was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church for 40 years, Past-member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters: Linda Rogers and husband, Wade and Cathy Tweedy both of Lynchburg; four grandchildren: Kimberly Bennett, Holly Knight, Steven Rogers and Hank Adams; five great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, a special friend: Elizabeth Barbour of Lynchburg,
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by five sisters and four brothers.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of Edna's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Richard Jett officiating.
