Edna Rucker Ford, 85 of Lynchburg passed into the Arms of Her Jesus on Monday, November 7, 2016.
She was born in Lynchburg, February 2, 1931 to her parents William and Minnie Rucker. She was the widow of William Sherman Ford whom she was married to for over 56 years.
She was an active member of Court Street United Methodist Church and longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Lynchburg Women’s Club where she served on the Board. Edna was a member of a book club and several Bridge clubs. She was well received at Boonsboro Elementary School for her home baked goods on special occasions.
She is survived by a daughter: Starry Burns of Lynchburg, a son: William Graver Ford of Lynchburg, three grandchildren: Eric, Sherman and Traci Ann; five great grandchildren and a sister: Patricia Brooks of Lynchburg and also several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl and a son, Terry.

A celebration of her life will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 10 at Court Street United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
