EdnaMay Langan, 72, of Lynchburg, Virginia walked through the gates of heaven to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2015. EdnaMay was born March 29, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter to the late Alfred and EdnaMay Switzer also from Brooklyn, New York. EdnaMay grew up in Brooklyn, where she attended school and eventually became an Administrative Assistant for a local company.
EdnaMay met her best friend Edward Langan in Brooklyn, New York where they later became husband and wife, began their family, and eventually moved to Staten Island, New York. EdnaMay and her husband Edward had four sons while living in New York: the late John Francis Langan, Edward Robert “Peanut” Langan, Jr., the late Steven Thomas Langan, and Jason Taylor Langan.
EdnaMay and her family moved to Lynchburg, Virginia in December 1987, to enjoy retirement. During this time she enjoyed playing BINGO at local venues, various card games with her family, league bowling at Fort Hill Bowling Center, taking trips to Las Vegas with her husband and friends, along with family trips to close casinos in Atlantic City and West Virginia.
EdnaMay is survived by her husband, Edward Langan, to whom she was married for over 50 wonderful years; two sons: Edward Langan, Jr., and Jason Langan and his wife, Angelique Langan; several grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of Lynchburg, Virginia. EdnaMay is also survived by two brothers: Raymond Meserole and Kenneth Meserole and wife Connie Meserole of Long Island, New York. She is preceded in death by her brothers Alfred “Buddy” Switzer, William “Billy” Switzer, and Charles “Butch” Switzer all from Brooklyn, New York.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February, 11, 2015, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the Reverend Monsignor Michael D. McCarron officiating.
