Edward Allen Jackson, Sr., 80, of Lynchburg died Sunday January 19, 2014. He was the devoted husband of Jacqueline Spriggs Jackson.
Edward was born July 19, 1933 in Los Angeles the son of the late Albert Jackson and the late Florence Hibler Jackson. Edward honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of U.C.L.A. He was retired as a Distribution Manager with General Motors.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Edward A. Jackson, Jr. of California, mother-in-law Catherine Spriggs of Lynchburg, brother-in-law William L. Spriggs and his wife Judy of Springfield, MO, niece Letena Lindsay and her husband Rashan of Brooklyn, NY, nephew William L. Spriggs, Jr. of Springfield, MO, two great-nephews Del David and Nelson Lee Lindsay, cousins: James and Mateline Hibler of Richmond, Mattie and Arbson Johnson of Bedford, Marean and Marie Hibler of Lynchburg, Francis and Florence Spinner of Goode, Edward Hibler of Hampton and Sadie and Joe Taborn of Bedford and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Edward\"™s Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday January 24, 2014 at the Tharp Funeral Home Chapel in Lynchburg. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
