Edward Charles Wilmer

Edward \"Ed\" Charles Wilmer, 72, of Hardy, passed away on July 15, 2013 at his residence. Born in Ocean Side, New York on July 1, 1941, a son of the late Frederick Wilmer and Ruth Craigger Wilmer.

Ed was a retired correctional officer with the Nassau County Sheriff\"™s office and a volunteer firefighter of Oceanside, New York. He loved all sports especially the New York Yankee\"™s and NASCAR. He was a loyal member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle lodge 4344.

Ed was survived by his loving wife, Lauren Rowan Wilmer; five children, Michael Wilmer and wife, Fran, Cindy Wilmer, Kelly Wilmer, Erin Ault and husband Dustin and Brendan Wilmer and fiancée Mia; four grandchildren, Brain Wilmer, Skyrah Wilmer, Keaton Ault and Holden Ault; two brothers, Daniel Wilmer and wife, Ginny and Frederick Wilmer and wife, Susie; one sister, Joyce Wilmer; also numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family ask memorial contributions to be made to, The Fraternal Order of the Eagle, Lodge 4344, 4136 Diamond Hill Road, Moneta, VA 24121.
