Edward "Ed" D. Jones

Edward “Ed” D. Jones, 54 of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away at home on Friday March 6, 2015.
Ed graduated from Carroll County High School in 1978 and from Old Dominion University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. He later obtained his Professional Engineer designation. He was an employee of Acres of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald D. Jones of Hillsville, Virginia. Survivors include his special friend, companion and “my honey”, Kay Gay. He is also survived by his mother, Doris Y. Jones of Hillsville ; brothers, J. David and Karen Jones of Forest, Adam Y. Jones of Forest, Ethan Y. and Amber Jones of Galax; nieces, Emily Jones, Sarah Kate Jones and Hannah Jones and nephews Ethan C. Jones Nathaniel Jones, Adam Brown and Mason Brown.
Ed was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was also a model train enthusiast.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at First United Methodist Church located at 225 Fulcher St. in Hillsville, Virginia at 2 pm. Family visitation will begin at 1:30. Friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation 6 Herndon Ave. Annapolis, Maryland 21403 or cbf.org.
