Edward Franklin Jordan, 91, of Lynch Station, VA, died Thursday, July 26, 2012. He was the husband of Frances S. Jordan.
Edward was born Friday, July 15, 1921 in Lynchburg, VA, a son of the late Halsey Thomas Jordan and Eva Brooks Jordan. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was retired from Consolidated Freightways where he was a driver for 35 years. He was a member of Memorial Christian Church and a Past Pilgrim in Moose Lodge #715.
In addition to his spouse, he is survived by a special niece: Diane Tucker, sister \"" Katherine (Kitty) Lamb; brother – Raymond Earl Jordan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister – Elizabeth Martin and a brother: Halsey Thomas Jordan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:30 pm on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg. A celebration of Edward's life will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with The Rev. Virgil Knipp and The Rev. Sue Knipp officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 16.
