Edward Lewis Falls

Edward Lewis Falls, 80, of Forest, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 10, 2011 at his home. Born Wednesday, February 11, 1931 in Cifax, VA, he was the son of the late John Vanderbilt Falls and the late Lula Cocke Falls.

Edward was the devoted husband of Frances Clyde Elliott Falls for 51 years and a loving father and grandfather.

He was a farmer his entire life and a member of Oakland United Methodist Church. In addition to his family, his passions included the outdoors, taxidermy, animals and gardening.

He is survived by two sons, Harry Lewis Falls and wife, Dawna of Buchanan, VA and John Falls and wife, Kim of Forest, VA; one daughter, Marsha Falls Murphy and husband, Scott of Forest, VA; four grandsons, Jonathon Lewis Falls of Buchanan, VA, Scott Austin Murphy, Jackson Payne Murphy and Jack Lucas Falls all of Forest, VA; three granddaughters, Beth Falls Stanaland and husband, Blake of Roy UT, Emily Marie Falls of Buchanan, VA and Courtney Elizabeth Falls of Forest, VA ; one brother, Jack Falls of Huddleston, VA; and two sisters, Christine Owen of Forest, VA and Viola Padgett of Blue Ridge, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Elery Falls and Horace Falls; and two sisters, Hazel Brevo and Dorothy Owen.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home from 6-7 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10 AM with Pastor Joe Horrell officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park, Forest, VA.
