Edward Matthew Rucker

Edward Matthew Rucker, 81, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was the husband of Rosetta Rucker for 58 years.
Born on October 30, 1939, in Amherst County, Va., he was the son of the late Radford and Ruby Mae Crawford Rucker.
He resided in Maryland for 39 years and returned to his hometown Amherst in 2009. Edward enjoyed being around family and friends and he never met a stranger.
In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by one sister Dora R. Rose of Amherst and one living Aunt, Noreen Hughes of Amherst. He is also survived by a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins who he cared for dearly.
A celebration of life for Edward will be held at 12p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Rev Meredith Tinsley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
