Edward Morris Lewis passed away at home Monday after a valiant fight against Parkinson\"™s Plus / MSA. He was born in Suffolk, VA on September 10, 1947 the son of Edward L. Lewis and Nellie C. Lewis of Lynchburg, VA. Edward Lewis was a devoted husband and loving father who served his country by enlisting in the Navy. He worked at Simplimatic Engineering for over 20 years.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Edward L. Lewis and Nellie C. Lewis both of Lynchburg, and one son, Christopher R. Lewis of Concord, NC. He is survived by his wife Anne Cosby Lewis, Son William E. Lewis and wife Jill and grandson Connor, his daughter, Elizabeth Shannon Lewis and grandson, Johnathan of Lynchburg, and a daughter-in-law, Amber L. Lewis and three grandchildren; Brooklyn, Caleb and Madisyn of Concord NC. Mr. Lewis is also survived by brothers Larry Y. Lewis and wife Susan of Lynchburg, Keith B. Lewis and wife Mary of Hurt, and Patrick A. Lewis and wife Barbara of Virginia Beach, as well as by loving in-laws, Tom and Emily Dieter of Indiana, John and Melanie Cosby, and Blake and Mallory Driskill of Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday May 10, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 11, 2012 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. David Edwards officiating. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of William E. Lewis, 1315 Oakwood Court, Lynchburg, VA, 24503.
