Edward Lewis "Eddy" Padgett

Edward Lewis “Eddy” Padgett, 63, of Bedford passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at The Carrington Place of Wytheville. He was born in Bedford, VA on February 13, 1960. A son of the late Landon Lowry Padgett, Sr. and Joanne Hargis Padgett. In addition to his parents Eddy was preceded in death by his brother, Landon Lowry “Bo” Padgett Jr and a sister, Joanne P. “Pee Wee” Miller.

Eddy was a very simple man. He loved his time with his family and friends. His strong work ethic was so evident throughout his life. He was always working on cars, trucks, tractors or anything with a engine. He often could be found riding around on his tractor or in his dump truck. Eddy was very independent but always enjoyed the company of his two best friends, Randy Patterson, and Larry “Tennessee” Daugherty.

Eddy was survived by his two children, Megan McNeil and her fiancée, Jason Roberts, and Steven Troy McNeil; five grandchildren, Chance, Chase (Karissa), Chandler, Lucas, and Lettie; two great-grandchildren, Mallory and Alex; three sisters, Deborah Witt, Brenda Padgett Nichols (Donald) and Susan Wood. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Eddy’s life will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Chapel.
